Todays Homeland bargain find!

January 30, 2009
Today I knew I would have to spend more than usual...we have been couped up all week inside from the ice storm and kids outta school eating me out of house and home.  So I needed to restock on my snacks and freezer stuff as well as get stuff for my 7 year olds birthday party this weekend.  I had all week stuck inside to search online for coupons and go through my papers over and over. This is what I found...

*Sale on Quaker Oatmeal (Instant, Regular, bars, cereal, etc.)
I bought 6 boxes for $2.00 each - Used an in ad coupon for $3.00 off any 5 Quaker products making it $9.00 so far
then used MFR. printable coupons to bring it down to $2.00 paid for 6 boxes of oatmeal!! (They doubled the 1st $1.00 off coupon and the rest were at face value. (Look on the printables tab for all Quaker printables)

Pepperidge Farm Texas Toast - Sale $2.50 used printable for $1 off and got it for $ .50

Ocean Spray Lite juice on sale for $2.50 used printable (doubled) $1.00 off PAID $ .50

and one of my big deals for the day was by pure luck!
In the meat dept. they had Oscar Mayer center cut bacon on clearance for $1.00 b/c it expires this weekend (FREEZE IT!) I snagged 5 packs and used 3 $ .50 coupons from the paper (Doubled) so got $1.50 off 5 packs of bacon- making 5 packs for $3.50!!

then I also snagged Oscar Mayer Deli Creations sub sandwiches reduced to $1.00 .. hubby loves these for quick lunches, so grabbed 4 of them, then I realized they had a peelie for $1.50 off of 2, so I used 2 peelies and ended up paying $1.00 total for 4 WOOHOO!

Then I also grabbed a few Misc. things for the party...

TOTAL WAS $32.99 Out of Pocket!

I got over $130 worth of groceries ....think I will be going back for the same items before this sale is over.  I still have multiple coupons on most of the sale items.  Remember Homeland only doubles the first coupon if you are using multiples of the same coupon.  The paper plates and cups alone make it worth the 1.5 mile trip to the store!

I'm a self proclaimed coupon queen. Chinchiest of the cheapskates. Tightest of the tightwads.....I love to save money. It's sort of an addiction to me, although a good one as far as I can see it! I not only clip coupons, I maintain a constant supply of food and toiletries in my house for next to nothing. It's a way of life for me; not because I have to live this way...but I choose to live this way. Why spend money you don't have to, even if you can afford it. Spend it on something fun rather than on groceries. I love sharing my info on saving with others that are willing to listen. To those who are cose to me I am a huge bore of frugal information...but to my fellow savers I hope to be insiteful as well as helpful.
